Four Corners Poem
This is fresh! I completed the composition of this poem, entitled Four Corners, just today, June 10, 2017.
To the office workers out there. To the hardworking people trapped in the four-cornered box. This is for you.
Four Corners
The four-corner on its own is our world
Where a lot of our time will be spent
Stories are made but much are untold
Lost in the walls, a forgotten event
We’re so engrossed and we ignored the sound
But the room is full of constant humming
The chatter and taps are bouncing around
At times broken by a metallic ring
Within these walls urgency is a must
Racing with time and beating the deadline
It is not for all but we must adjust
To improve our crafts, to grow and refine
An effort that could bring us down or up
As we continue to seek good results
With a weary eyes and a coffee cup
We trick our mind, it’s not that difficult
But, are all of these worth a struggle?
When some are beaten and unrecognized
Will it really matter in life’s battle?
Is it worth the effort and sacrifice?
And we can’t deny the growing stress
With that popping eye-bags and unkempt hair
Is it the price of our thirst for success?
For our well-being, do we still care?
Whatever that is we have our reasons
We need to live and work at the same time
And we have that thing we called ambitions
A goal to catch while still in our prime
So here we are in a four cornered box
Oblivious to time, as it may appear
But the silent ticks of advancing clock
Is getting louder as the day’s end nears
